PROFIT-IV is a modular, on-line, interactive, and fully integrated 4GL based financial management, distribution management, and manufacturing control, costing, and planning system.
Since its origin in 1975, PROFIT-IV has been continually improved to meet the technical standards and market demands of the industries it serves, which includes the ability to use bar coding and EDI capabilities. PROFIT-IV Information Management

The Information Management system is linked to all PROFIT-IV modules by allowing inquiry to online and historical data. The Information Center inquiry screen provides quick access from any location within the system to data regarding inventory status, costing, pricing and movement; current customer and vendor information; accounting history including invoicing payments, purchasing payables, general ledger, and work order details and costs; and sales information.

PROFIT-IV Financial Management

This set of modules is a totally integrated financial management system. Applications include: customer billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, financial analysis, asset accounting and payroll.

PROFIT-IV Distribution Management

This set of modules comprise a totally integrated sales management and inventory control system (with interfaces to manufacturing and accounting.) Applications include: purchase order control, average costing, inventory analysis, physical/cycle counting, sales order control, quote control, sales analysis and counter sales.

PROFIT-IV Manufacturing Management

This set of modules comprise a totally integrated engineering, manufacturing control and manufacturing planning system (with interfaces to distribution and accounting). Applications include: bill of materials maintenance, same-as-except-for and where-used logic, product estimating, work order management, labor reporting, material reporting, routing maintenance, net material requirements, work order budgeting and job costing, master scheduling, material requirements planning, capacity planning and rough cut capacity planning.

4GL Environment

Thoroughbred Software International's 4GL is a comprehensive set of programming and user productivity tools. It is designed for easy use and understanding. The components which comprise the 4GL environment include: Dictionary-IV, Script-IV, Report-IV and Query-IV. These are all needed to use PROFIT-IV.

Dictionary-IV
The most complete set of database definitions available in any 4GL, including: formats, links, help, screens, menus, scripts, views, messages, global dictionary, reports and queries.

Report-IV
Comprehensive report generator which can be used to create any level of simple to complex reports, reducing the need for programmed reports.

Query-IV
Extended version of the popular SQL standard, allowing use of SQL queries and easy user-direct access to the database; pick and choose windows allow users to build inquiries and reports with no programming or command requirements.

Script-IV
Set of powerful commands, seamlessly integrated to the other 4GL tools.
